Allison Danzl
After realizing that her five year old self was wrong and she wasn’t meant to be a veterinarian, Allison decided to pursue her love of design and entered the Apparel Design program at the University of Minnesota. It didn’t take long for her to realize that clothing design was her passion. Nothing makes her happier than spending hours dyeing and printings fabrics. Her designs are inspired by anything from the drawings of dead trees she perfected in elementary school to her little cousin’s finger paintings.
Allison focuses on making wearable garments with unexpected elements like mice marching up the side of a dress or a vibrant spray of color on the back of a classic men’s vest. She strives to achieve excellent fit and construction in each piece she makes. The garments she creates are for women who like quirky prints and colorful patterns and men who aren’t afraid of having a little color in their wardrobe. Allison is currently working on designing a collection of menswear for her senior line that will be shown at the University of Minnesota senior fashion show in February 2011.
