“Fashion, by definition, is about the now. It’s about newness, and the excitement this newness creates. So it strikes me as paradoxical that the majority of today’s fashion design is, by and large, relying on old, detrimental ways of thinking. It gives very poignant meaning to the phrase ‘fashion victim’. Though there are earth-conscious designers at work, if the rest of us don’t evolve our concept of fashion, we’re in big trouble.”
